Nyepi Day -Balinese New Year
Nyepi is a Balinese "Day of Silence" that is commemorated every Isaawarsa (Saka new year) according to the Balinese calendar (in 2012, it falls on March 23rd). It is a day of silence, fasting, and meditation. The day following Nyepi is also celebrated as New year. Observed from 6 a.m. until 6 a.m. the next morning.

bali is really a mystic. balinese is different from "mainstream" indonesian. and that reason alone makes bali such an interesting place to visit.

"Day of Silence" is such a daybreak of whole year Bali's crowd of tourism visit. The moment when Balinese (Hinduism believer) to contemplate in calm and off realm-way.
This silent feast day comes up with huge tolerance among other faith believers in God island, the way to keep the island really shut off in holy contemplation :)
